Ouch. That’s what Intralase (Lasik) is going to cost. That is if I actually get it done. I am a good canidate for it, but will of course need a full visit with the Doc to be sure. So we’ll call it 99% certain that I can have it done. That is supposing I decide that I can afford it.

But there is not a rush, I’m going to go see another Doc in the area that does this too. It’s always good to get more than one opinion (and price).

I didn’t stitch at all today, bad me. I spent the day running around. Went to Costco, Sam’s Club, out to lunch, dropped some jeans at the tailor’s and then off to the eye appointment. By the end of the day I was exhausted. I don’t know why; I really didn’t do that much. I ended up finishing a book and vegging in front of Dirty Jobs.

(isn’t mike rowe from dirty jobs a cutie? i told dh mike will be my third husband, troy polamalu is my second. yes i know troy’s married, so am i. a girl’s gotta have her dreams.)

Highlights/lowlights of the day:

Lunch sucked. We went to Hunter’s Lair. 12:30 on a Tuesday and they were out of wings (which is a special), we found that out 15 minutes after we ordered them. Not acceptable. I had the steak sandwich, it was ok but for $8 I expect good/really good. Dh had a smoked duck sandwich that was also less than impressive. The fries where ok. But! there were maybe 15 other people in the whole place and those 2 sandwiches took 25-30 minutes to come up. Not acceptable. The service was ok, expect for the fact she didn’t know they were out of wings and tried to laugh it off. Not funny. The dinning room was immaculately clean, that was nice. So I suggest fire the  kitchen and see if their cleaning crew can cook. I may seem a bit harsh, but I waitressed in a similiar type of bar/restaurant. It’s not that hard to get it right. Maybe possibly one day if we’re feeling generous we might give them another try, but they shouldn’t hold their breath waiting.

I’m conflicted. The book I finished today, A Dangerous Man, it had me sobbing at the end, (and dh was in the room so I got mocked for it) but I loved it.  I was so sad that it ended the way it did. The author could’ve had a happy ending. But he didn’t. I understand why it ended the way it did, but my heart was crying out why did it have to end this way? Kinda like real life…

Anyway, it was book 3 of a trilogy that I HIGHLY recommend. Go read them all and see if you don’t end up a little in love with Henry… against your better judgement.

Ooohh, I agree on Mike Rowe. He’s a cutie for sure, and I love his dry, cynical sense of humor.

Was reading about your Lasik (I had it done about a 1 1/2 years ago… fantastic!) and wondered if you could place money in a flexible spending account, if you have access to one. I did that and was able to get mine done tax free.
