I remember why ANB has been a WIP for seemingly forever. It is such a slow stitch. And the other delightful thing about it? It’s a thread pig. Do yourself a favor and just buy 2 of each color. And then be really careful with Lancaster Red, Amber and probably a couple more. I’m only stitching this on 28ct, it’s not like I’m stitching over 2 on 25ct here.
As you can see that left most brown motif, not done. Ran out of Chestnut. That *may* not be ANB’s fault. Way back, when I was that 1 thread off and had to rip out over 1/2 of what I had done one of the motifs was Chestnut, so I have used extra of that. But still, I’m less than 1 needle full short. Argh! So I’m going to keep plugging away at it, I have ordered more thread. I do not feel like driving down the the LNS right now with how much gas costs. Really, with the 20% discount & the cost of shipping, it is cheaper to order online right now. That and it took me 5 minutes to order instead of an hour’s round trip drive plus shopping time.
On the bright side, my initials are done. Do you have any idea what a PIA it is to find the letter W in the old French Sanjou booklets? But what made my night last night? I found a mistake in the left side peacock. Argh!!! One lousy stitch. And yes I do *have* to fix it. It will drive me batshait crazy if I don’t fix it. I just know everytime I look at it, it’ll be the first thing I see.
I just can’t wait for this project to be done. I know I’ll love it when it is finished. But the process is no fun on this one.
You are a far better woman than I. I would have fudged that peacock for sure.
It looks amazing though!
