Halloween is coming!

Progress on the quilt:

It’s a bit on the loud side, but then again so am I, so it works. I attempted to piece the back last night. Note the word attempted. Either the fabric was miscut at the fabric store or it shrunk a lot in the wash. Doesn’t really matter which at this point. Fact is I don’t have enough. I do have yardage of another cotton which I will see if I can piece in with the backing I had planned and I can see if that will work.

And I’ve been so inspired by all of Missycor’s Halloween ornaments (well more jealous than inspired, inspiration implies that I have started stitching some of my own) and last night at Marshall’s I spotted this:

Black Marabou Feathers. OMFG. Between this and the quilt I think it’s pretty much a sure thing that the only taste I have is tacky. But I love it.

And in stitching news, I made something for my exchange with Jill tonight. I’ve had the tutorial for it bookmarked for a while now, and I wish I had done this sooner. It was so easy and it turned out so cute! It was so easy I’m not even sad about giving it away, I could whip up another one any afternoon. I can’t wait to share a picture of it!!! I think I’ve got Jill’s exchange thisclose to ready and I think I can have it in the mail Monday.

OMG, I love the photo of the cat and the tree! I think your cat is trying to work out if it’s a) edible or b) related to him/her 😉

OMFG, I am totally jealous of that tree. Totally. I think Halloween is the bestest decorating holiday ever, so I will now be haunting every discount store in Brownsville hoping to score.

The quilt is fantabulous. Your blog makes me jealous, and at the same time makes me a little more anxious to move because I’m totally going to take sewing lessons when I move back to civilization.

A feather tree. That is so fabulous that I can’t even believe it. And that quilt. Just…excellent on so many levels. LOL LOVE!

I found a tree for my ornaments at Wal-Mart for $7. Totally excited!

  7. The feather tree is freaking awesome! And, I am not even a Halloweeen person! Between you and Melissa with her fab ornies, you guys might convert me. I really am in awe of the quilt. Well, maybe envy is a better word. I SO wish I had the time and the talent!
