All Buttoned Up

We’ll start with Crabby and move more and more off topic as we go…

Obviously still in need of a wash & iron, but it is done!

Made progress on the in-laws Christmas gift:

Those two hours I spent down on the floor laying this sucker out piece by piece has paid off I think. (note: ignore those blue post-its you’re seeing everywhere, I need those so I’ll know what goes where) I think the trails turned out better on this one than they did on my Christmas Quilt (the one with the pom-poms). Right now only the blocks are made. Tomorrow I’m hoping to sew the blocks into rows and then the rows together to make the top. Then Saturday do the borders and Sunday the backing and tieing. Oh, and the fabric for this one is Moda’s “Merry and Bright”.

My tree is now 100% complete!

65 bucks people. And that’s including the spendy $30 tree skirt.

Awwww… it’s a butterfly.

I know in the picture the bird’s all “Whatchulookinat?” but in person he looks all sweet and peace loving.

I stuck some pinecones ($2.49 for a sack, don’t look at me like that, pinecones aren’t easy to find on my street, which I am grateful for since Win’s allergic to pine trees – hence our plastic tree) here and there and while it doesn’t look great in this picture the viney-ball garland is really nice.

I “made” the topper from 3 of the butterflies. But the snowflakes hanging from the ceiling are my favorite part. And those I bought last year from Wal-Mart I think I spent $5 for for all of them (including the ones that are still laying on the coffee table). Sulky invisible thread has more uses than just beading. 😀

I’ve been plotting which cookies to inflict on the neighbors…

Buying more nail polish:

Left to right: Makes Men Blush, Oh So Glam!, Kiss on the Chic, Top Coat, Ruby for Rudolph & Don’t Toy With Me!. In back (you can’t really see it) is the free wristlet OPI threw in because I’m an addict and they want me brand loyal. Little do they know I will whore for anyone with the glitter.

And last but never least Shoe Porn TM

My lovely “stripper shoes”. These I bought to wear to a cocktail party last Saturday.

These jumped into my bag and came home with when I was out buying the stripper shoes. They looked very awesome with the black denim slacks & jacket. I threw a red shell underneath the jacket and it was a very good look. Got a deal on them too, $19 + 35% off. (Not leather, but really, how often am I going to wear them? I’ll be able to get a couple of years out of them easy.)

And because I’m hooked on clogs/slides whatever you want to call them. Now I do have to crow about the awesome deal I got on these. Originally $109. Marked down to $89, then 30% off of that. Can you say less than half of retail? I can. 😀 And they looked bad-ass with my jeans & t-shirt grocery shopping today.

Feel free to keep posting comments for captioning on the last post. I’ll pick a winner this weekend.

  3. Crabby is amazing and wonderful! Your pic really makes me look forward to stitching mine. That quilt is going to be fabulous. Can’t wait to see more of it.

Diva has a late start day today, so she’s looking over my shoulder at the shoe porn. I already told you what she thinks of the stripper shoes. She has much like for the red boots, too. I had to laugh at her comment about the clogs, though. “Seriously Mom, your friends like the same shoes you do. It’s almost freaky.” She’s right. I like them muchly.
