The LK Exchange

Just saw the post from my partner that the Lizzie Kate I stitched for her arrived. This was the project where I was wondering, do I do something that may match her decor, or do I do what suits the piece better? I went with suits the piece. If she really hates it, it’s cute enough to re-gift IMHO.

It’s a cushion cover. Approx 16″ square. Approx because I suck at sewing. rofl But pillows are forgiving things by nature so it should all be good. Those big ol’ buttons are from one of those ubiquitous “Dress It Up” buttons packs that seem to be breeding in people’s craft closets across the country. I had my choice of colors, yellow, green, orange, pink, and purple. I went with the yellow & green because they were the cloest match to the polka dots and those colors were also repeated in the cross stitch. I used the kit fabric & tiny yellow buttons from LK’s Big Girl Panties for the cross stitch.

And here it is with one corner flipped back so you can see the backing fabric. I finished it just like my Christmas pom-pom pillows, the super easy overlapped style back. I also sent along Brittercup’s Varisty Pets which was on Chris’s wishlist and $10 to buy the pillow form. Because seriously – I’m not paying more to mail the thing than it costs to buy.

Hi Missy, thanks for visiting my blog. I’ve enjoyed browsing yours. Your cross-stitch projects throughout your blog are absolutely stunning.
Happy to hear from another make-up fiend. A girl can’t have too much, right? LOL
    Aloha!

That is great – she can put me first on the re-gifting list if she doesn’t like it! lol

Cute piece – glad you went with this finish!

  7. OMG I love that! Waaaay too cute! See, that’s one reason I don’t do exchanges. If I created something that cute, I wouldn’t want to send it to someone else! LOL

  8. Would you be able to tell me where you got this “Big Girl Panties” cross stitch? I have been looking for one and since the pattern has been retired, I have not been able to locate one. I would really appreciate hearing from you. You did a beautiful job, by the way!
    Thanks!
