Just one of those days

Things haven’t gone horribly, but they haven’t gone well. I’m in a massive funk because for two days I’ve been trying to find a nice nightgown (heck, I’ll settle for slutty at this point) for the Island Vacation. I’m fat, my boobs sag horribly, my tummy is huge and flabby, and my hair is looking a special kind of crap lately. *sigh* This is what I get for finding a bathing suit in less than 45 minutes without having a major emtional breakdown.

I figure this is the universe balancing out the stuff that does fit. I’ll show pictures of that stuff (without my flabby boobs stuck in them thankyouverymuch).

Not the shoes that Melissa C. picked out for me, but it turns out I don’t have *any* red to wear on my trip (which is really unusal for me). They did come from Zappos though, I ordered two pair, different styles and this was the Winnar! Perfect fit, super mega-comfy (I vacuumed in these to test the fit) higher heel, great style, and $5 cheaper than the other pair.

Oh you should see this on. It is wonderful. And it was on sale.

And this is the “dressy” dress. Navy (almost black really) & grey blue chiffon. Both of them, together from Nieman Marcus – less than $150. Big Sale. I won’t be wearing the white sandals with dress (I’ve got a dark pair of strappy heels for this one) but I will be wearing them with the yellow dress. I’ve bought a bunch of other stuff, but it’s all mainly tank tops and carpis. Boring stuff, but I did manage to pay retail for none of it. Got to love off season.

I did stitch yesterday. Still working on Sophia’s WNRR. Well, it’s more like finally picked it back up after not working on it because the deadline got moved way back.

Um yeah, I better get moving on this. You should see her fabric in person – Silkweaver’s Starquest (opal). I’m head over heels in love this fabric. I wouldn’t have thought of it for a winter piece, but I think it’s just perfect. I’m going to buy yardage of this to stitch Mira’s reindeer & sleigh on.

The only thing I actually accomplished today?

Hey! It’s not black anymore.

So shiney I can see myself in it! Luckily it’s blurry enough you can’t get a good look at the bad hair…

Wow, love those dresses! Gotta love a good sale. šŸ™‚

Oh, I would totally have picked out the shoes and also those dresses, so thumbs way up!! You’re going to look great, bad hair, saggy boobs, and all. LOL (((hug))) I have those days too.

I think that fabric would be great for the sleigh and deer. Hurry up and do it, so I can copy you. LOL

I love the dresses and the shoes! You are gonna look fabulous on your trip. I so need to hit some sales and update my wardrobe.

  4. Ok, so I’ve seen how fab you are in person, but like Melissa C. said, we all have those days. {{{Missy Ann}}} I’m still impressed over the bathing suit shopping. And, um, pardon me, but why do you need a nightgown? Tropical paradise alone with your DH. No kiddo around. What am I missing here? (extremely evil bad-girl grin) Not being able to find one is a sign you don’t *need* one. Oh, and the dresses and shoes are amazing! LOVE the yellow especially!

  5. Karen says:

I love your new dresses, and the shoes are cool, too. Wow! A real silver tea service! I’m impressed. And so shiny, too. šŸ™‚

  6. Claire says:

Oh, honey. I agree with Cheryl. Not being able to find a nightgown for the trip is definitely a sign that you’re not supposed to take one with you. Just leave a robe near the bed if you have to answer the door quickly. šŸ˜‰

  7. Susan says:

I had the exact same thought as Cheryl – If I were going to a tropical island without my son, I’d be going sans sleepwear.

As for being fat and flabby – you’re far from it. I’d trade my sorry body for yours any time!

  8. Susan says:

We want to see pictures of you in the dress and the shoes on your vacation – they all look lovely!

  9. Michelle says:

Love the shoes and the dresses – fabulous finds!! And polishing silver is a bitch and a half – so good for you!
