Going Over The River

All I have to show today is Over The River.

I’m about 1/2 way done with the embroidery on panel 1. It’s not moving that slowly, there’s just that much of it.

And today was the last class for OTR, but the gal teaching it works at the shop and is very nice and has said she is there to help us with it anytime we need help. I’m hoping I don’t make her regret that. 😉

In class today I cut some fabric (I hate cutting) and made one block.(not shown is the fabric I did cut, I do actually have something to show for my class time today besides one poor pitiful block)

On the left are the lights and darks, on the right are the mediums, inner border/binding/piecing, sashings, and the backing. I’m using the cream & black roses for one of the shashings and the backing.

My goose is ready for his close up:

One down, 127 to go. Yes, that’s correct, 128 flying geese blocks on this quilt. I should be an expert by the time I’m done. The other thing I bought in class is a Sew Easy Guide. It works. It works well. It is going to save me tons of time. And rats, I meant to buy the bigger one today too and totally flaked on it. My only excuse is I was distracted by my lust for an American Flag quilt kit they just put out in the shop. I really really really shouldn’t get it, but I can’t stop thinking about it.

  1. You already know I love this, right? Black and cream is one of my favorite color combinations. You’re making this for me, aren’t you? Or are you just planning to torture me with the pics? There is lust in my heart.

You sure got sucking into the dark side of quilting instantly, didn’t you? LOL That’s exactly what would happen to me, I just know it.

  3. Michelle says:

Looking wonderful!!! This quilt is gonna be awesome. Curious what the American Flag quilt looks like. I still haven’t started on my Halloween…such a slacker. I did start on Bunny Hill’s BOM though – slow going.
