I'm allowed to wander the neighborhood unescorted

A couple of days ago as I was stitching away at block 3 of HoHRH the thought “more freakin’ birds!?” pops into my head and I sigh, more birds. Really didn’t I just stitch a whole mess of hover crows in the previous block? How many birds are on this thing? I pull the chart out and look at the cover photo… OMG there are birds everywhere! Geez… CHS must have a thing for birds. Ok, back to stitching, stitch stitch stitch.

I’m not very bright. Houses of HAWK Run Hollow. Yes, I’ve been stitching on this project for three months. I’ve had the chart for over a year. I’ve drooled all over multiple WIP pictures on the web, and it wasn’t until this week that I put together all those birds = hawks. SMRT that’s me.

As much as I hate to say this, I’m going to miss completing block 3 in March. I still have to flood the roof, house, and ground surrounding those diamonds (I love those diamonds so much, probably my favorite part of this chart to date) with color.

I have to set this one aside for the weekend. I have a WNRR mailing due on Tuesday and I haven’t even finalized my pick for it, let alone put a single stitch in. The block isn’t big and I think I’ve got my choices narrowed down to 2, but the fact remains that I have to STITCH IT by TUESDAY. Sorry, the caps are for my lazy self…

P.S. Green birds? Is there an algae epidemic going through the Hollow?

Yes, it’s the same with Shores, those dang hawks are all over the place there too. LOL

Oh gosh, I just LOVE your blog entries. You had me laughing here so hard. Even more because I never realized that hawk thingy either until you said it.
Oh, and beautiful stitching. Looks lovely

ROFLOL I must not be very bright either ~ I never connected all those birds to the title!

    Your stitching looks great!

  4. Count me in the SMRT crowd. Bird = hawks didn’t register here either. I do, however, like the diamonds muchly.

  6. Well, add me to the SMRT crowd as well because I never picked up on that either. I’ve been looking at WIPs of this piece for ages and bought the chart about 18 months ago. Never even connected all the birds with the Hawk part in the name. D’oh!

I so have my moments like that too. My husband even insists I be the one to manage the affairs too – so how SMRT does that make him??

You are so funny – love reading your blog.

I’m not gonna get mine done by the end of the month either. Sigh. Oh well…your hawks are looking lovely!! Oh, and let me know which JCS you mentioned has the darning sampler in it, if you remember. I’d love to see it (and see how it compares to the SANQ one).
