I’m happy with my progress this week on ATS.
The Jessica stitches that I planned for the eyes worked out very well. I will say Jessicas on 36ct a touch more difficult than on 28ct. I frogged more than once.
I’m also really happy with the basket. I stitched it with a Double Gobelin Filling stitch. Now since this is a close up you can see all the compensation stitches. That’s a nice way of saying I made it fit. 😀 When I finished it up I asked dh what he thought of it, he said it looks woven. Score. That’s exactly what I was going for and at arms length this looks good.
Tomorrow I really have to get working on my Just Nan exchange. I did make lots of progress on my baby quilt. I pieced all the blocks and I’m hoping to start assembling the top tomorrow.
This looks really great! Love the colors. Good job. 🙂
Sorry…I forgot…I love Janet Evanovich!! I met her at a book signing when I lived in CA and she is as “quirky” as Stephanie…LOL
The basket totally does look woven! Great idea!
Looks great! I’ve enjoyed following your progress on ATS. 🙂
Oh excellent update. I love the close-up photos as we can see your wonderful stitching.
Great progress on ATS! Love the peacock and I agree, the basket does look woven. Looking at this piece is like having a lesson in all the different types of specialty stitches! It’s pretty neat!
I love what you’ve done! You definitely get the clever girl award for ATS. I make sure to always keep my mom and sister updated on your progress.
That’s looking so good! I can’t even begin to imagine doing Jessica’s on 36-count.
Missy, ATS gets more gorgeous every time you post an update. Your substitutions and embellisments are wonderful! BTW, those jessicas and that ‘woven’ basket… love them!!!
Missy – I really love all the changes you have made on this piece to make it your own. The basket definitely does look woven and I love the idea of Jessica stitches for the peacock’s eyes!
Great progress, Missy. The basket does look woven, and the peacock is lovely!
The basket looks awesome! You do a great job with your ATS modifications. So impressive.
Wow – so much progress! You’re gonna be done before you know it. I love the Peacock! Awesome use of jessica stitches.
I continue to be awed and enamored by your specialty stitches. Love how this is coming along.
Hi Missy, Your WIP is just stunning : what awonderful project 🙂
Missy, I was reading your post on the Legacy about the 36 count linen you chose for this projet and you wrote ” boring ” : please could you say me what is boring ???
Stitch on a 36 count with only a ply of GAST is boring ???
I ask you that because I am planning in stitching “and They sinned ” …and I am hesitating about the linen.
Thanks so much for your reply ,
Best Wishes,
Isabelle
Your ATS looks fantastic
I kinda miss mine, lol.
Oh man, that basket is perfect!!
