You as burnout as I am…

on Caribbean? Don’t worry this is the last time you’ll have to look at it for a bit. I burnout on it Sunday evening. But I was mostly done with part 5 at that point so I pushed on and finished it early this afternoon. (I didn’t spend much time on it Monday or today – it really was close.)

This was Monday night. I ended up going with the Poppy for the backstitching on the flamingos. Here you can see with & without backstitching.

All done! Yes, I know – I should’ve moved the scroll bars a little bit more. But as I have established in the past, me = lazy.

I’m becoming way too fond of the weird angle shot. I should probably consider taking a photography class or something. Or maybe I should just offer Dani a position as staff photographer. 😉

They’re so cute! I backstitched all around the beak with 1 strand of black silk. The eyes are a french knot, 3 x wrap with 1 strand of black silk.

The grasses are one strand of Emerald Isle, these are way too much effort. Very glad to be done with them. I had to count and stuff. Really cut into my Law & Order watching.

Squashing fish. I also didn’t figure out until I was done stitching it, the pink in the water… it’s a reflection. Clever girl our Martina.

Love the nest, not the best picture ever but I have little patience and attention span. You’ll get what you get. lol The long stitch twigs were done with 2 strands of Ironbark (which is a really lovely brown – not something you don’t hear every often). The egg is backstitched with one strand of the pink metallic and the flower crystal is held on with a 5 bead. I did consider using a pink bead to hold it on, but I went with the 5 because it’s what is used on the grasses and I didn’t want the pink to distract from the multi-colored aspect of the crystal.

Well, that’s it for Caribbean for now. I’m going to get moving on HoHRH and that pesky OTR which keeps STARING AT ME. Stop it. Seriously. Things that make me feel guilty have a bad habit of getting midnight burials in back yard. Oops… uh… haha. Kidding. Really. (mostly)

  12. I love to see your Caribbean pics. The design is so wonderful and the colors are very much fun. Definite eye candy, especially since this is one Chatelaine that I admire, but will likely never stitch. You’re stitching is perfect, as always!
