Wow! That post got a lot of notice.
The fabric decision has been finalized, I will be stitching on 28ct. cashel Phantom by PTP. I’m not changing the picture, because in the pattern viewer Phantom & Gothic – well you can’t really tell them apart. Also it’ll be plain cashel, the design calls for 4 packs of just one of the beads. And upon reflection, there appears to be some scattered beading that I think is supposed to give the impression of fireflies and I think an opal will over power that detail.
PTP describes Phantom as being a bit darker than Gothic and the color crisper. I liked the idea of a crisp night sky.
From the comments:
The picture of the design was released yesterday. Nobody is out of the loop. I’m just very quick on the draw.
I think you all are right about stitching what calls. Life is too short. I really thought I was going to be able to resist this release. That’ll teach me.
As to the fugly leaves. I’ve got some (very cheap especially compared to Mill Hill prices) crystals coming. Flowers & butterflies by Swarovski hopefully one of my choices will work or maybe both will and I’ll use a combination. And of course the bicones. 6 for 54 CENTS!
Actual stitching: I started on house 8 last night, just stitching the border. I didn’t get it finished, I was stitching slow. I love DVRs. I love Mad Men. I love Don Draper. (although condom city! that man is a social disease waiting to happen) Tonight I want to get caught up on True Blood & Hung. And joy of joys, Dexter is starting next month! Today the muse drug me by ear to Voodoo Boy and I’ve started stitching on him.
