That bird…

had better watch its ass. Or maybe the cat should watch hers, that crow is about the same size and they are plenty mean. This block started rough, I just was not in the mood to work on HoHRH, but I was even less in the mood to miss my block a month commitment. I know me, if I don’t keep on top of this I will never finish! Ok, yes I will finish, it’ll just be 3 years from now. Anyway, once I got moving on it it starting singing to me and between it the DVRs of Mad Men (how much do I love Peggy?!), True Blood mini-marathon (I was 3 weeks behind!), Hung (how much do I love redacted?) and my ever dependable Law & Orders (including Elevator Inspectors) I’ve had a pleasant week of stitching. Anywho.. gonna try to finish this block tonight.

I’m still waiting on my sewing machine. Latest update, they’ll be replacing the circuit board.

I’m itching to stitch on a Mirabilia. Shake’s Fairies did arrive today!!!, but I am still waiting on my fabric. So I’ll console myself with the MiraRR that’s due for Sept 14th mailing.

The Halloween issue of Just Cross Stitch is finally mine! I can see myself stitching probably 1/2 of the ornies (*snort* still haven’t stitched a thing from last years issue) and there are a couple of other designs in the issue that I like.

My LQS is having a very big sale to make room for all the new she’s bringing in for Quilt Festival. I went a little nuts.

This is 9 scrap bags, weighing in at 2lbs 10oz for $9.00. Yup, count ’em 9 dollars. There is only 1 piece that I loathe, it’s so ugly I wouldn’t make a cozy for my cats’ litter scoop out of it. But the rest, good to pure gold. A few bits are only big enough for 2″ squares. But the majority is small but very usuable size with some being more than big enough to get a good bit of use out of for zippered bags etc. And of course I bought these with the glee in my heart singing ornament backs & smalls! I also picked up some larger cuts at $1 per yard (and I think I found my new living room pillows – score!) and the border for OTR.

Still very torn about what to stitch for the HOE exchange. I’ve got two really solid ideas, with a half dozen more “hmmm that’d be cutes” bouncing around my head. I figure I’m just going to wait until I get my victim’s partner’s name and then decide. I hope she has a blog or something to help me out with this.

What else… the kid is back in school. No arrests or phone calls from the school yet, it’s going well. I *finally* made it back to exercise this week. Yes, it’s taken this long. And I’ve felt pretty good. I went Mon & Tue (just Curves – but it’s better than nothing and sadly about all I can manage at the moment), I took today off but I plan on going Thurs & Fri. I still occasionally cough. Yup, two months later and I’ve still got a touch. Hopefully by the time all the winter colds roll around I’ll be all better in time to get a completely new and exciting virus!

Oh! I keep forgetting. Stacy Nash Primitives Cast Your Spells. I will buy, sell, trade, for the kit, chart, or even for a loan of the chart (if you want it back I’ll stitch it up in a week and put it right back in the mail to you). I don’t know what it is about this design but it’s SCREAMING at me. Probably because I can’t get my hands on it.

Great block! I think the cat should be scared….them crows are vicious…and they are so noisy! There are loads of them in my neighborhood. Awesome haul on the fabric. What a deal!

  2. You’re making great progress and good for you for staying on track. I wish I had the kit to send you but alas, I do not…. I hope you find it – I”m sure you will!

That bird is cute and not one bit afraid of the cat. I think the cat better watches out….lol.
Lovely new fabric too. Of course I’m now absolutely curious about the ugly cat litter fabric.

Oh my goodness. Like Gabi I caught myself staring at the picture looking for the ugly cat litter fab, too. lol You do have some yummy fabric in there Missy. BTW, that bird def is not afraid of the cat though… notice the bird looks like he’s dancing and the cat looks terrified. Geez. I think I need to go lay down.

Hey before you get all obsessed about Cast Your Spells, I was kind of kicking myself that I didn’t sign up for those kits but I heard so many mixed reviews at the beginning I just passed and this is the first one that has caught my fancy….check out Stacy’s Halloween pinkeep book, Merry Halloween. It’s got four designs and all four are great, IMHO….I’ve already got plans for the designs. I am especially fond of “Eliza Ann She Was Very Wicked”. I also like “Dreaming of Halloween”
You can see it at stacynashprimitives.com if you haven’t already.

You picked up some great fabric there and at such a great price! I couldn’t pick out the poop scoop fabric either. Maybe you should show that piece. Cheering you on with the HRH block. It looks great, funny how that bird is so big!!

Woo Hoo! I love bargains like that – it is one of the reasons I need a bigger stash closet. šŸ™‚

I have the kit for Cast Your Spells. I’d be glad to lend you my chart, if you’d like it. I just pulled it out and was contemplating stitching it up, but then realized I have a workshop with Jane Timmers on the 25th that I haven’t done the stitching for. Just let me know and I will send it along.
