#22 and Sad Kitty is Sad

Done, finish # 22! Washed out in the photo, the fabric is a great straw/splotchy/vintage feel linen Solo from Silkweaver. It’s probably 28ct. I used the called for Crescent Colors, but I stitched 1 thread over 2. I’m very happy with how it turned out. Chart is Salem Sisters 1 by Plum Street Samplers.

Kitties! Not sad, sinister.

Sad kitty:

He’s depressed. About what, I don’t know… his life isn’t exactly terrible. Closer to terribly spoiled. He’s also the bully boy of the house, food bowl empty? Some-body’s getting beat up. In his spot? Smack! Not attentive enough? I’ll just howl in your ear until you worship me as is my due.

Next up… Dunno. Caribbean? Shakespeare’s Fairies? (I swear I’ll take a picture tomorrow – the light’s gone, and I don’t think I can get a good shot in artificial light.) But I think Winter Rose might come out on top. I need to get her done with time for framing, she’s going to be a Christmas present. If I get my butt in gear that is.

A new catnip mousie sometimes brings a grin…

    Lovely stitching, as always, Missy!

  3. Abi says:

Congrats! It looks great. I love the delicate look of 1 strand over 2.

  4. Valerie says:

Great finish! The 1 thread over 2 really gives it that primitive look.

  5. I like the look of the one over two – very much in the flavor of the design. Good work!

I have no advice to cheer kitties. If he came to my house, he could chase real meeces in my storage room. DH is rackin’ up the notches on his mouse trap. LOL.

I love your finish Missy! Perfect for this time of year. And yes, what is next?? But congratulations on getting rid of Number 22. And aren’t those cats something else? – they definitely rule the roost!!

  7. Wow, you got that finished up in a hurry! I love it – it’s a great piece. Your kitty definitely looks like he could run roughshod over less confident kitties/humans.

    Great finish. congrats on that.
And I LOVE that cat of yours. Makes me giggle. He looks great. He reminds me of my cat Kasimir, who passed away couple of years ago. Both look the same and share the same arrogance if I read that correctly.
