Freakin' Steelers Lost

Pirate Quilt is being quilted, should be back to me by the second week of December. Plenty of time to attach the binding before Christmas. Famous last words, yes – but I SWEAR I’m going to get this done and have it wrapped by Christmas Eve. But I do need to spend the time now and get the binding made so that when it comes home it’ll be one less thing that needs to be done. Thank you all for your nice words & encouragement on this project.

Speaking of quilts, my log cabin blocks are done. They’ll be sewn together (or not depending on my choices) when the time comes for assembly.

Progress has been made on Winter Rose. I really think the top border is the fussiest bit and I’m hoping to pick up speed. If I do, a finish this week is not out of the question.

Hit the LNS yesterday. I had some buttons on order and needed to pick up a few threads. I was well behaved. Blew all my cash, but I stuck to my list. A quick illustration of  dye lots. Old WDW Curry from my stash & just purchased Curry.

(all right, not the *best* picture – but IIRL the differnce is so striking it’s hard to believe they are considered the same color)

The to-do list is written up for tomorrow.  Sam’s Club, Kroger, wash & iron Win’s formal band clothing for pictures Tuesday, and a little something just for me: Boondock Saints II. 11:30 am tomorrow, Cinemark.  I’m so there.

OMG I had no clue they’ve made a sequel to Boondock Saints! Jessie & I love this movie. We will definitely be seeing this one! Thanx for the heads up!

  2. Well, better a Steelers fan than a Lions fan. Talk about losers! The new quilt and WIP look great and I’m really anxious to see your pirate quilt once you get it back and trimmed.

Well, I can one-up you on the football losers. Broncos=3 straight losses (and yes, one was to the Steelers.) I told my hubby I wasn’t going to watch them anymore because they lost to the Redskins, OMG!

Where did Winter Rose come from!? I have no idea what it is. have I been sleeping like a fish with my eyese open while reading your blog?

As for the dye lots, I was singing that same sad song but with the words “CC Colonial Copper” this week. Who Knew: One dyelot can be “Orange” and another “Brown”. LNS owner said she could swear that sometimes they just plain mis-label them!

Go, you on Win’s quilt. I Haven’t even (really) started on Christmas yet. Me to Boyfriend: “Ya wanna pick a PS3 game to get for Christmas”. Yeah.

I don’t know crap about football so no sympathy there.

I’m with Berit though…where did Winter Rose come from. I must have missed something but I love the start so far. Great color combo!

Wow, your Curry looks so much brighter than the new one. I hate it when the dye lots are so different from the other.

Winston is going to be one happy little fella when he sees the gorgeous quilt his Momma made. It is beautiful Melissa.

Isn’t it just amazing at the differences in colors from one dye lot to the next. When I was working on ATS, I think I had to get more Thyme and had to go to three different places to find one that came close to what I was actually working with. Winter Rose is very nice and I can’t wait to see more of your quilt progress.

  8. My sympathies re: the Steelers. However, the Bengals have become my new favorite team. I can be fair-weather with the best of them. My Titans have won three in a row, but as those are their only wins on the season, I’m not getting terribly worked up. Let’s not even talk about my Vols. Sad and sorry. Yay for getting the Pirate quilt in for quilting! I look forward to seeing finish pics.

I really like that lime-yellow-green fabric because I love that tone-on-tone squiggle thing you got going there.
