My piecing is going well.
The colors kinda washed out in the trees 😦 . In person they make sense with the roses at top and then the greens getting darker on the way down.
This is what I did yesterday. I am VERY happy with how these turned out. And instead of following the applique directions I just went ahead and needle turned them. The directions were good, and I was familiar with them. My needle turn teacher had shown us that way in case we didn’t end up liking to needle turn and it’s also a good technique for when you can’t needle turn. That’s usually happens with very tiny little pieces or very large pieces. It was good to have the review. But I love to needle turn, and that’s what I did. These also gave me the chance to use my Bohin chalk pencil, which now that I’ve used it I can say with authority – it is the BEST. If you ever need a chalk pencil spend the $12 and buy this one, with the added bonus it fits neatly into my little tackle box needle turn applique tool kit.
I don’t plan on doing any quilting today. I haven’t worked on Winter Rose since Monday and I’m going to try to get back to it tonight.
I’m also famous. 😉 Stitchers Village
It was also a great mail day. The great & fabulous Terri sent me the Be Jolly freebie I was looking for and a few other goodies. Isn’t that floss tag cute?
And there was also a box from the fabulous & great Annette.
She stood in line for many hours to get our Pioneer Woman cookbooks signed, see? It’s got my name & everything!!! And then Pat (A’s mom), well she’s got my number. She sent the tiarra & wand. I took it off long enough for the picture. lol And the bookmark. Just… 😀 Black Dagger Brotherhood 4Evar.
