Andy’s car was broken into last night. He was in Dallas on business. They smashed out the driver’s side window and what we’ve figured out was stolen so far:
Work cell phone w/ ear piece
Wallet filled with credit cards (dh keeps two wallets, the one with the CC that he doesn’t use often is kept the car – where guess what?! it was stolen)
Projector (this belongs to a professional organization of which Andy is the chairman)
Now for the good news, 15 minutes after Andy calls and tells me all of this I get a phone call from a police department (turns out to be a suburb of Dallas) asking me if I’m missing any credit cards. They arrested the thief at Wal-Mart trying to buy a bunch of clothes and a TV.
More bad news. Andy’s company won’t pony up the insurance deductible (I think they should, he was there because of them. At home the car is kept in a locked garage.) and I can’t imagine that a new window and possibly a new driver’s seat is going to cost anything near our $500 deductible. Merry Christmas, we’re going to be out $500 + an increase in our rate because we have the nerve to file a claim.
Cherry on top? The thief; he had warrants.
In an attempt to close on a positive note, Jill’s first thoughts on Winter Rose:
How much do I love that frame?!! Here’s what I asked for: frame both together, OLD FASHIONED scrapbook feel, maybe photo corners?, and “Lorraine and Dorothy circa 1938 Brady Place Hartford Connecticut” in cursive under the photo. In the email from Jill; I’m thinking I’d like to airbrush the edges of the openings to make them seem “frosty” and put old fashioned photo corners on the openings. I’ll do the cursive as if it were my own scrapbook. She’s been given the go ahead. 😀
