Overdue

The only sop to my conscience is that I did email Val & Kathy to say thank you! and let them know their packages arrived. In general I’ve been an ugly border line violent mood lately (really the thought of hurling dishes at a wall is very satisfying right now).Β  I’m blaming the hormones.

Ok, one to good things!

Valerie had a giveaway a week or so back for some adorable hand stitched pillowcases. I got lucky and won!

Aren’t they darling?! My guest bedroom is “shabby chic” and these are perfect for the bed. Right after I took the picture these went up stairs and I pulled the white pillowcases off the bed and replaced them with these beauties.Β  I think they add a great Texas touch to the chic. Yes they’re really from South Central America but you know what a lot of things and people in Texas are from there too. I’d like add something here, I only enter giveaways for items that I REALLY want. There are lots of giveaways that I think “that’s nice” but I don’t have a place for it or I know I wouldn’t use it so when I do win a giveaway it’s always a little more special for me.

Then there are RAK’s, which are every bit as special because I don’t go looking for them. πŸ˜€ Kathy sent me a Halloween RAK.

The lighthouse is a little joke between us. She love lighthouses I… don’t. lol She’s always teasing she’s going to stitch a lighthouse on my RRs. I always say her RRs are very pretty in spite of the lighthouses. And she also stitched me a lovely ornament/door hanger Halloween ornament. I love the ghost peeking in from the side. πŸ™‚

Valerie & Kathy thank you both very much!

I have been doing things this week (besides ignoring my blog).

The tree:

And I wrapped all the presents underneath.

A goodie for me, bought by me in the mail: Edited to add linkage for purchase: doe c doe

I also finished my Fair & Square Christmas but it isn’t even being mailed until Monday – you’ll have to settle for what has been delivered. HOE Christmas ornament.

That Time of Year by Cherry Wood Design Studio, Gift of Stitching magazine November 2009. Stitched withΒ  charted threads, on 28ct. Antique Almond cashel (I love this color!!!) JABC button, and DMC cording. I also sewed jingle bells into a “wreath” around the knot at the top. I was really really happy with how this turned out. I think I held onto a couple of extra days after finishing before I finally mailed it.

That’s about it. I need to get back to my Sampler Quilt and I must finish HoHRH too. Instead I’ll be addressing Christmas cards today.

Edit again! I’d forget my head if it wasn’t attached. Update you bookmarks, blog reader etc. Annette’s moved her blog the address is now http://www.annettesacre.com/

    Your tree looks lovely!

    Those pillowcases are adorable!

  2. Valerie says:

Ugh…hormones. Try to find your happy place…or have a couple of cocktails. Cocktails help! lol

I’m glad that you liked the pillowcases! They’re from Central America though. Despite dating my BF over a year, he still says I’m South American so no worries.

I love your tree!! White and shimmery. Is it a real flocked tree?

And cute ornie too. Apparently I need to pay more attention because I don’t remember seeing this in the GoS.

    Hope you enjoy your weekend!

Yeah, I have to blame men rather than hormones….

Love the tote bag – if I wasn’t such a prude, and wouldn’t be afraid to leave the house with it – I’d buy one myself. πŸ™‚

Your butterfly tree is gorgeous – as are those pillowcases! And that tote bag is awesome! I think I need one. Your ornament turned out beautifully, love the jingle bells at the top! Hope your violent mood winds down soon (or at least that no one is injured in the process!).

*LOVE* everything! Your tree is amazing! Absolutely amazing. That tote is a must have! The ornie is so cute. The fabric is perfect.

I have one of those bags on order. I kept holding out buying the “I Embroider Naked” bag hoping she would do a cross stitch version.

I love your tree. Mine is still in it’s box in the garage. Guess I need to lug it into the house and put it up. I’m just not feeling it this year.

  16. Dani says:
