Weekly update

I suppose I should just admit that I’m only posting weekly now. Maybe once I pick up steam stitching again I’ll post more often. But I do have things to share.

I started on Jenn’s Mirabilia RR.

The white blob will be Rosebud Lullaby.  Isn’t her RR too pretty for words? Wait until you see the whole thing.

I’ve also decided Marie inviting (& me going) to a local quilting group is the best thing I’ve ever done to help me towards of goal of actually quilting. I still may not be doing a whole lot, but I am making progress.

6 pieces appliqued down, 18 more to go. Then the embroidery embellishment.  I’m going to try to get at least another broom completed this weekend. The brooms are the hardest part.

And this morning I pulled the last of my first 28 books of the year. I’ll start Deeper Than Dead today since it’s due back on the 12th.

Ooo. Like the RR very much.

EXTREMELY impressed with the applique. It looks like something that would have me cussing like a sailor. You’re amazing!

  6. Gabi says:

Oh my gosh. Your applique has me drooling. Imagine me staring at the screen for ages with open mouth while turning slightly green because I’m somehow not able to get it done like this. Your applique is SO beautiful.
    The RR looks fantastic.

  7. Valerie says:

Tammy Hoag…I haven’t read her in years. Maybe I should go to the library and check out one of her books!

Great start on the RR and your applique is looking good!

Love it all! How great! Witchy Wonderfulness.

  9. Robin says:

The RR is really really nice! I love the Mirabilia ladies! So pretty, all of them! Love the book selections also! Have you tried audio books while stitching? It’s the only way I get a reasonable amount of time with both loves, lol! And, feel no guilt re: “only” blogging weekly!! It’s no fun anymore if it starts to be something you “have to” do! 🙂

Sometimes I think that we get more things done when we don’t post as often as usual – I know that’s the case with me. I love the Mirabilia ladies – that will be such a fantastic piece when it’s finishes. And I’m loving the progress on your quilt!!

  11. Daffycat says:

Things just go in cycles don’t they? I’m sure not going to gripe since you are (at least) updating!

Your applique work looks really cool! I love the crinkly, wrinkly witch’s hat!

  12. JenJen3574 says:

You are just torturing me aren’t you?! LOL

Nice start on Rosebud lullaby – cannot wait to see it completed and with all the other sections.:)

I’m so jealous of your quilting abilities – like I need another hobby – but if I did I might just come move in with you so you can teach me to do that. You wouldn’t mind right? 😉

  13. Michelle says:

Oh I’m loving the new block you’re working on!! One day I’ll have time to do this!! And great choices for your next books to read. I’m so in awe of how fast you read.

  14. Siobhan says:

I love that RR! It’s going to be stunning when it’s finished. Love the quilt block, too.

Your books–YGG! I think I’m on, ahem, 5 so far for 2010. I better get crackin’!

  15. Measi says:

I absolutely adore the Mirabilia RR photos – all of the pieces are developing so beautifully!

  16. Marie says:

You may need to give me needle turn lessons. LOL You really do such nice work with that. The Halloween Applique quilt will be gorgeous when it is complete and I look forward to the progress pictures (I am lucky I get to see the real thing :D).

How do you get so much reading done with all of your stitching? The Mirabilia RR stitching is gorgeous!
