Let’s just get right to it.
Hooked on Exchanging Winter House Exchange:
From Janet
Love this, Little House Needleworks on a book/box. Brilliant! Janet really paid attention to detail & it shows in a wonderful finish.
I stitched two of Bent Creek’s houses from their Winter Snapperville & added the town names for Nic & myself. I finished them into a double sided flat fold. The fabric is Spun Sugar opal from Sassy Fabrics and I stitched them with my choice of Weeks, GAST & Crescent Colors. This was my first attempt at using Judy Odell’s method of finishing off the twisted cording. I’m not 100% happy with it, and while with practice I imagine I’ll improve – I’m probably being too picky.
I stitched Holly. 😀 All the empty space off to the left of Sophia’s RR is gridded for more Pixies. She plans on stitching them when her RR returns home to her. It just happened that the group gravitated to the right side. This is another one I wish you could see in person, the colors… it just works, you can barely take your eyes from it.
Yesterday at the Houston GTG (hi ladies!!!!!!!!!!) between bouts of me gossiping and good food and great company I stitched a little bit more of poor neglected Bluebell’s wings.
But mostly I did this:
Jo’s office/store room is… well it means trouble for me. lol Another silk Oops Pack (see that red pearl on the left, Cherylann gave me that – granted it was after I squealed shiny & fondled it *snort* thank you again Cherylann!) a pair of tiny little floral print scissors, Cats Whiskers’ Scissors by any other name & the new! Shopping Tote. Could not leave without any of it.
Maybe I’ll stitch this week, I’ve got the Chatelaine Smalls Exchange coming up, Annette’s Mira RR to finish (last one!) and Bluebell is calling my name. But reality is I need to finish cleaning my master bedroom/bathroom, dust my son’s room, and I shudder when I think about how much yard work I need to do. And I still have to go grocery shopping today. I was going to stitch this morning, but I blogged instead. I hope you all appreciate my sacrifice. 😉
Your stitching is lovely, as always. And I am totally lusting after both of those charts. Tell me, how are the instructions for the tote bag? Are they easy to follow?
Oh I need that Retail Therapy chart!!! and those threads – too gorgeous for words.
Isn’t Sophia’s RR stunning.
Love your flatfold. Like the idea of the two towns on each side. Very clever
Your book is wonderful too. Nice gift.
Got time to see me soo? Leaving here on the 17th!!!!!!
RR looks great. Love the stash. I’m going to fill in the empty space on Sophia’s RR. I just can’t help myself LOL
Not possible to play in Jo’s office without finding something(s) that have to come home with you!! I admire your restraint.
Love that box/book finish! Oh my, the creativity! Can’t imagine what’s not to be happy with on the two-sided flat fold. Incredible!
And, yes, I do appreciate your sacrifice. You gave me something to drool over today – so you get points for good-deed-doing. :p to yardwork!
Great exchange from both sides. I love the personalized pinkeep you made for Nic. Awesome RR…I’ve enjoyed following the progress on the MiraRRs. They are all so beautiful!
Great exchanges, Melissa. It was so nice to catch up with you again yesterday – I promise that next time I’m down there, I’m going to stay the night, so I don’t feel like I have to rush home early like Cinderella LOL
Goodness gracious, Missy! You have been busy!
B-E-A-Utiful!! Your finishing is fantastic–I think the cording looks great. Neat exchanges–I like the different finishing ideas. I think I’m being daring at thinking of doing a pin keep. (Okay, paying somebody to do a pin keep…) The RR is gorgeous–love your stitching!
Pretty pretty pretty.
That RR is fabulous!!! Love your finish for the exchange and Bluebell looks great!!
Pssst…I nominated you for an award. It’s my latest blog post. 🙂
Oooh…. I love that you are stitching Holly!
I’ve nominated you for a couple of blog awards. You can stop by my blog to pick them up!
Wow – everything is fabulous. I love the two-sided flatfold piece. So cute. And Holly – WOW! I am in love with that RR. I want one immediately!!
