The second to last Halloween package has been delivered to its new home.

Taken from Prairie Moon’s For Thine is the Trick and Treat. Stitched on 28ct black joblean with DMC glow in the dark (Cathey’s checking on the truthiness of that – if it actually glows) backed with black velvet panne and finished as a pin keep.

I’m still working on Chatelaine’s Caribbean, I didn’t make as much progress as I wanted. I should have finished with the reef yesterday, but I’m still plugging away at the last 3 over one fishies tonight.

I bought a clip on light/magnifier (it was purchased to use as an underneath light so that one of these days I can work on my Shakespeare’s Fairies without wanting to stab it with my scissors – PTP’s Phantom is a bitch), but since I’m loathing the fishies… Β I have finished one fish since the above picture was taken, I don’t think it’s making me enjoy stitching it – but I do think that maybe I’m a bit faster. Maybe. There aren’t as many color changes in the fish not on the coral. Β Anyway… hatehatehate. With the bonus I’m not dreading the shit out of the hummingbirds that are coming, have to do 8 of those little fuc…

It may be a pain in the ass to stitch, but it looks fabulous!

BTW, which etsy shop did you buy the skull beads from? I can’t find them for the life of me.

  2. Valerie says:

I saw the pinkeep on Cathey’s blog. Love it! This makes me want the Prairie Moon chart even more!

Caribbean is looking absolutely stunning! It will be so worth all the blue air surrounding you at the moment. I did the first 2 of her huge Mysteries and I swore never again, but this one is tempting me…I love it.
Keep at it…looking forward to next installment πŸ™‚

OMG I love the pinkeep. I echo Silverlotus, where did you get the skull beads. Love them.
You have to approach Chatelaine’s with a certain mindset sometimes. I keep putting mine down because the repetition gets on my nerves. They are beautiful though and yours is looking so nice.

The pinkeep is too cute! Your Caribbean piece is looking stunning as well. It will be worth all the pain in the end, I am sure.

Loving Chatelaine’s Caribbean, even the fishes. πŸ™‚ If I didn’t know just how much blasted work goes into each of those mandalas I might buy and start several. As it is I’ll just be glad to one day finish Alhambra so I can start Covenant’s Herbal Garden. But then I do have the Japanese Garden along with its bead pack too…

The pinkeep is just adorable!! Fabulous work.

As for the Chatelaine piece. OMG it is going to be breathtaking. Those little fish are so colorful. This one will be so worth the over one headache. πŸ™‚

    Have a great weekend.

I think every Chatelaine has a hatehatehate part. Or atleast a part you can’t wait to be shedd of (like my towns in MTM). Your is looking quite amazing, though! So that’s the bright side.

Oh, and I need to know if that fiber really glows in the dark, so I expect a report back. πŸ˜‰

You did a great job on the pinkeep. I have used Dmc glow in the dark floss and it works really well. I did a Prairie Schooler skeleton with it. There is a picture of it on my Yuku page here: http://codocat.u.yuku.com/
On my monitor I have to stand up and look down at the picture and it shows up really well.
The Chatelaine is pretty, even if parts of it are a pain.

Love love LOVE that pinkeep! That’s now made that design jump into my wishlist – have to admit, like a few others, would love to know which seller you got your skull beads from, they’re great! πŸ˜€
